Russian Tennis ace Maria Sharapova shattered the dreams of fifth seed Nadia Petrova in straight sets 6-1 6-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the Stanford Classic. Sharapova came back from shoulder surgery in May with a stunning form. She was off the tour for more than 10 months. She beleaguered her fellow Russian with accurate serving, massive returns and pinpoint ground strokes. Sharapova defeated the Japanese veteran Ai Sugiyama in the first round on Monday with a three set win over the Japanese star.
